“Insurgent” by Veronica Roth is the second book in the Divergent series. It is 545 pages. The book starts off from where Divergent ends, and a war is threatening the factions. In the beginning, Tris, Four, Caleb, Peter, and Marcus go to Amity to look for safety from the government and the possible war. Amity promises safety to anyone who wants it and that they will stay out of the war. Erudite then comes hunting for the Dauntless who have escaped from their faction. Tris and the other Dauntless escape on a train full of factionless and find out that they too are planning a rebellion. Once they reach Candor, they are put on trial using truth serum. After Eric and other Dauntless traitors come looking for them, they decide to go back to Dauntless headquarters. Everything is going well until a simulation makes three young Dauntless jump off a roof with one dying. Jeanie threatens to continue the simulations until one Divergent surrenders themselves to the Erudite. In this book you learn more secrets about the government and factions. This book was a great read and was just as good as (if not better than) Divergent. I would recommend this book if you have read Divergent and are looking for a good book to read. To find out the rest of the book you will have to check it out at the library!
