Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K. Rowling is the long-awaited sequel to the Harry Potter series. This book is a very controversial topic. Some people love this book, others hate it and think the series should have kept the seventh book as the ending of series. The book was in play format, which made it an easy read, but it also lacked the depth that we are used to seeing in the characters of this world. For those of us who have read the book, the plot did get very confusing as it progressed. Also, I think that Albus used the ‘I live in my father shadow, life sucks for me’ card one too many times. The characters wouldn’t have been in such a mess if Albus didn’t keep on acting like he was the only misunderstood teenager out there. However, I did find Scorpius to be my favorite character because of his witty lines and his journey within the story. I also enjoyed seeing the gang all together again. In conclusion, I think that Harry Potter and the Cursed Child wasn’t that good of a read, since it was in script form, but I think I would enjoy seeing the play.
