This book is about the upbringing and childhood of the amazing boxer, Muhammad Ali. It is located in Louisville Kentucky in modest neighborhood where the great boxer lives with his family. His name is not yet the familiar hero, but Cassius Clay. After an encounter in training area for boxing, he is inspired to begin his own legacy. With a confident personality, sure he is the best, Cassius begins intense training and participates in small fights at local rings. Soon, he rises to the top and his talent escalates quickly. But because of this, his opponents are even tougher than ever. He will have to work harder than ever to beat them to truly become the greatest.

“Becoming Muhammad Ali” is quite an amazing read. It is different from other books because of the many styles and diversity of writing inside. The book is written like a normal book at some parts and like a poem at others. There also nice illustrations every ten or so pages that really help bring the story to life. Altogether these styles work together to create a wonderfully told story about a great character.

You don’t have to know everything about boxing to read this book, you just have to like a funny, heartfelt, story. I would definitely recommend this to every reader.
